The Making of Hull Cracker

I was not interested in the technical stuff of recording an album.  My youngest son Cody Wilson stepped up to produce “Hull Cracker”. He enlisted Jeremy Scott to engineer and co-produce the project.  They took over saying “just give us some good tracks, we’ll do the rest”.  Without them the project would still be on the shelf.

On “No Rudder” My two older boys (Jake on Sax, Dylan on bass) tear it up, turning this ukulele tune of Duane’s into a hot jazz blues song.

Cody plays percussions on the album. He also delivers great lead and fill guitar on “Skin Boat” the album opener and the newest song on Hull Cracker.

The Guitars used on the album are my 1984 Black Ovation and a recently acquired Canadian Godin F hole, electric hollow body guitar. I play all the guitar tracks on the album except for Cody’s lead on “Skin Boat”.
